As part of the expedition, we made daily video-conferences with pupils at 'summer school' in Knowsley City Learning Centres. We had to specially choose campsites with a south-westerly view unimpeded by high mountains which would block the micro-wavesignal from the CAPSAT satellite to our telephone. We answered pupils' questions about our experiences in the taiga and used our web-cam to show them our camps and the scenery of the area. We also emailed daily back daily reports on the expedition's progress. Meanwhile in Knowsley children undertook their own virtual expeditions as part ofa summer education programme.
