In 1993 D J Clark conducted the New Openings survey looking at the way in which UK based Overseas Development Organisations used and sourced photography. The New Openings II survey is an update ten years on. Research Methodology 1. Quantitative research: The 1993 survey was a paper based questionnaire sent to over 200 UK NGO's, of which 63 were completed and returned. The 2003 survey was a web based questionnaire sent to 270 NGO's. The second survey received exactly 50 responses between December 2002 and January 2003. 2. Qualitative research: As part of the 2003 web based survey participants were asked to comment on two points.
