In 2010 one grant of 50,000 RMB will we awarded to an emerging (up to 35 years old) Chinese multimedia journalist to complete a project outside of China between October 2010 and July 2011. There is no specific topic or length for the project though applicants should look at the story winners from the CHIPP and WPP awards for a guide to the type of subjects the committee is looking for.
All applicants must be able to demonstrate an ability to work professionally outside China by either having a good level of English (CET 4 min)
or by having a good level of the language of the country they seek to work in.
There are two stages to the application,
Fill in the form HERE. You can write Chinese or English at this stage. Please read the questions carefully and make sure you fill in every question. Any applications with blank answers will not be accepted. Once you have completed the application press "send". The deadline for the application is 1st October 2010.
10 applications will be short listed and the applicants notified. They will then have one month to put together a more detailed project description in English, as well as providing an electronic portfolio of previous work and a risk assessment for the project.
In October the award will be announced.
